Eddie O’Sullivan: 50 Not Out
Saturday’s 34-13 triumph over Scotland, which moved Ireland into second place in the Six Nations table, was also Eddie O’Sullivan’s 50th win since he took over as Irish coach in November 2001.
IrishRugby.ie has compiled a list of Eddie O’Sullivan’s wins as Ireland coach. The teams that have lost most frequently to Ireland during the Corkman’s reign have been Scotland (8) and Italy (9), while Six Nations rivals England (4) and Wales (6) have also been regularly beaten.
France have been his bogey team with just one win from nine meetings and he is also yet to mastermind a victory over New Zealand – the All Blacks have beaten Ireland five times since 2002.
But there have been memorable triumphs over the Southern Hemisphere’s other big three sides – Australia (2), South Africa (2) and Argentina (3)
