Scotland MatchDay Event Report

Five cracking scores, two Ireland players and a few hundred happy Supporters Club members all went into the mix to make the Scotland MatchDay event a great success.

Despite a few obstacles in their path, a few hundred members made their way to the Canal Room at Croke Park last Saturday to attend the Supporters Club MatchDay event as Ireland took on Scotland in the Six Nations championship.

The pre-match attendees got to soak up the atmosphere in the lead-up to the game, watch the Wales v Italy match n television and in some cases get a pitchside escort to the event!

It was post-match, however, when the fun really started. Celebrating a five-try win for Ireland, members were in great form as we got to hear from Daniel and Yvonne, the Ireland mascots for the day. Today FM’s Paul Collins joined us to sum up the day and set the scene for the arrival of some of the Ireland stars at the event.

Despite the announcement, there was no fake tan in evidence as Jamie Heaslip and Denis Leamy arrived to a great cheer from everyone.

The players took time to tell us how they felt about the game and to present a couple of prizes, including a signed Ireland Jersey to Supporters Club member, forum travel advisor and committed (Mun)Leinster and Ireland fan Jarrod Bromley.

A big thank you to all the members and their guests who attended. If you have any photos of the day, please feel free to send them to barry.cunningham@irfu.ie  for inclusion in the gallery.
