Supporters Club Event Goes Down A Treat

Five cracking scores, two lucky mascots, two Irish players and a few hundred members of the Supporters Club all went to make for a special Supporters Club MatchDay event last Saturday.

The Ireland v Scotland game on Saturday was extra special for a few hundred members of the Irish Rugby Supporters Club. Not only were they treated to five great scores from Ireland but they got to enjoy the day in their own function room as part of the club’s MatchDay Event. Oh and don’t forget that Jamie Heaslip and Denis Leamy popped in shortly after the game to say hello!

Gathering in the Canal Room to watch the Wales v Italy game on television, the members and their guests were able to soak up the pre-match atmosphere and meet fellow members who had travelled from all over Ireland and the UK for the game and the event.

It was after the game, however, that things really kicked off. We were delighted to be joined Yvonne and Daniel – the two Ireland mascots for the day – and they gave the lowdown on what Brian O’Driscoll had said to them before kick-off.

The interviews were conducted by radio personailty Paul Collins who also treated the members to a run-down on the game.

The highlight of course was the arrival of Jamie Heaslip and Denis Leamy to meet the members and to give their insights on the game. Both players were delighted to meet the fans and present a few prizes – including an Ireland jersey signed by the squad.

The Supporters Club MatchDay event is just one of the many benefits of membership of the Supporters Club. The club, which is three years old this year, has just launched the all new PACK containing your membership card and a range of Supporters Club items when you sign up or renew your membership.

In addition, this season sees a charter package to Twickenham, following on from the success of last season’s trip to Cardiff.
