Dubarry Park in Athlone will play host to the finals of the AIB Cup and the AIB Junior Cup competitions on Saturday, April 12, it has been confirmed.
Blackrock College have already booked their place in the AIB Cup final with a terrific win over Dublin rivals Clontarf at the weekend. They will have to wait a bit longer to discover their opponents as the Galwegians v Shannon semi was postponed.
The semi final will take place on Saturday April 5th with the final a week later.
In the AIB Junior Cup we have the prospect of an all-Leinster clash with Navan playing Tullamore. Navan came through a tough semi-final away against Crosshaven, winning with a penalty goal and a drop goal in extra time at Myrtleville Cross.
Tullamore, meanwhile, ensured their presence in the Dubarry Park decider with a 13 -5 victory over Clonmel at Spollanstown.
The finals of the AIB Cup and AIB Junior Cup will be held at Dubarry Park, the midlands ground which has been hosting the Ireland Under-20s’ games throughout their 2008 Six Nations campaign.
The AIB Junior Cup will kick off at 1.30pm on Saturday, April 12. Meanwhile, the AIB Cup final will kick-off straight after it at 3.30pm and will be shown live on RTE TV.
