Frazer McMullen Trophy: Focus On UL Bohemians
The All Ireland Under-20 championship comes to a climax this Saturday as UL Bohemians and Lansdowne contest the Frazer McMullen trophy at Portlaoise RFC. First up we take a look at UL Bohs.
The All Ireland Under-20 championship final for the Frazer McMullen trophy will take place at Portlaoise RFC this Saturday. The game kicks off at 2.30pm and will be contested by UL Bohemians and Lansdowne.
The UL Bohs Under-20s come into this final on the back of a highly succesful season. They have only lost one game so far – conceding a late injury-time score to UCC to lose by a single point.
Their record this season is: played 11, won 8, drawn 2 and lost 1.
They have scored 346 points in their eleven games, conceding only 88, and secured a bonus point in all but one of those. They will present a difficult challenge for opponents Lansdowne on Saturday.
Some of the squad have already tasted cup glory this year as they were part of the University of Limerick side that shared the Conroy Cup with UCC.
They are in final mode at present as they will also be contesting the final of the North Munster Under-20 League on Saturday week. Their opponents on April 12 will be Young Munster who were beaten in last weekend’s other All-Ireland semi-final by Lansdowne.
