Three Exiles, two previously capped at Under-19 level this season and one addition, played against France U-19s at Massy near Paris on Saturday.
Openside flanker Sean Dougall and lock Ciaran Ruddock had both featured in the 23-0 win against Italy last month.
They were joined this time by out-half Elliott O’Brien (pictured on the right with Sean) of the Henley Hawks club.
Elliott was a team-mate of Sean’s in the Ireland Under-18 Clubs XV that played in the FIRA-AER championship final last season and has been a regular on Exiles XVs since he was an Under-17.
Though well-beaten by France in the end, the game was much closer than the score-line suggested.
Sean and Ciaran played the whole game while Elliott came on in the second half.
The highlight of the weekend for the players had to be the fact they were based at the French National Rugby Centre at Marcoussis, a world class venue to inspire any young internationals.
