Having been top of the table since December, Leinster secured the Magners League title last Saturday with a six-try win over the Newport Gwent Dragons at the RDS. So the final round of league games this weekend is all about the final positions in the table.
The final weekend of league action begins on Friday with the Ospreys in action against Connacht. Should Lyn Jones’ men claim their first away victory of the season it would stop their unfortunate run of losses in Ireland.
The Dragons, who beat the Ospreys on Tuesday to secure Heineken Cup qualification, are also in action again on Friday night when they host Magners League champions Leinster at Rodney Parade.
The last game on Friday sees Ulster host the Cardiff Blues. Victory would give the Welsh region runners-up spot in the league for the second year running, however they have lost on all five of their previous visits to Ravenhill.
Saturday sees both Scottish teams in action. Glasgow Warriors travel to Heineken Cup finalists Munster, while Edinburgh are in Llanelli to play Scarlets.
Both visiting teams are looking for their highest ever finish in the Magners League – victories would go some way to secure that.
