The extended Ireland squad, including newly appointed Ireland ‘A’ captain Bob Casey, trained at the University of Limerick grounds on Monday as they geared up for the forthcoming summer tour and Churchill Cup.
The senior and ‘A’ squad players trained under the watchful eye of interim head coach Michael Bradley at the UL Bowl, where they will be based for the full week.
The squads have a busy summer schedule with the senior side preparing for a warm-up game against the Barbarians at Kingsholm next Tuesday and Test matches against New Zealand (June 7) and Australia (June 14) next month.
The ‘A’ squad will face the USA (June 11) and England Saxons (June 14) during the group stages of next month’s Churchill Cup, with the finals day in Chicago on June 21.
