Eric Elwood’s Ireland Under-20 squad will play their Scottish counterparts in a friendly match at Ravenhill on Friday (kick-off 6pm) as part of their ongoing preparations for the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship, which is taking place in Wales between June 6 and 22.
Ireland beat Scotland 17-12 in the RBS Under-20 Six Nations tournament at Dubarry Park back in February and you can see how the Irish squad are currently progressing under coaches Eric Elwood and Dan McFarland when they line out against the Scots this coming Friday at Ravenhill.
Tickets for this Belfast encounter will be available on the gate, priced at £5 for adults and £2 for children for anywhere in the ground.
The inaugural IRB Junior World Championship is taking place in Wales next month. The tournament begins on June 6 when Ireland take on Argentina at Cardiff Arms Park, and with pool games to follow against New Zealand and Tonga, Elwood’s charges will have to be at their best to finish as one of Pool A’s top two sides.

After the game against Scotland, Elwood’s squad will have one other warm-up fixture at Ashbourne RFC on Thursday week (May 29).
It will be a conditioned match against an Under-23 selection drawn from the Ireland ‘A’ Churchill Cup squad. Kick-off for that game is 4pm.
