The Ireland Under-20 squad had an encouraging run-out against their Scottish counterparts at Ravenhill on Friday, with the home side claiming a 41-27 win. The match was being used by both countries as part of their preparations for the inaugural IRB Junior World Championship.
The 2008 IRB Junior World Championship is taking place in Wales next month. The tournament begins on June 6 when Ireland take on Argentina at Cardiff Arms Park.
With pool games to follow against New Zealand and Tonga, Eric Elwood’s charges will have to be at their best to finish as one of Pool A’s top two sides.

The Irish Under-20s will have one other warm-up match next Thursday at Ashbourne RFC.
It will be a conditioned match against an Under-23 selection drawn from the Ireland ‘A’ Churchill Cup squad. Kick-off for that game is 4pm.
