Budweiser Tag Finals Time At Corinthians

At Corinthians its that time of year again, Finals time. Given the capacity of the biggest Tag venue around, each group’s playoff stages would require some explanation. Read on for more…..

Now that we have reached the end of the round-robin stage of the tournament, your team’s position on the League table will determine whether you will play in the Cup, Plate, Bowl or Spoon Finals.

The important thing that everyone should know is that ALL TEAMS will have fixtures for the remaining 3 weeks of the competition, regardless of whether they win or lose in a quarter or semi final.

Corinthians’ Finals Stages will be played in the following formats over three weeks:

Thursday 10th July – Quarter Finals

QF 1 -> 1st placed team plays 8th placed team
QF 2 -> 2nd placed team plays 7th placed team
QF 3 -> 3rd placed team plays 6th placed team
QF 4 -> 4th placed team plays 5th placed team

Thursday 19th July – Semi-Finals

SF1 -> Winner QF 2 v Winner QF 3
SF2 -> Winner QF 1 v Winner QF 4
SF3 -> Loser QF 2 v Loser QF 3
SF4 -> Loser QF 1 v Loser QF 4

Friday 25th July – Finals (*note FRIDAY and not Thursday*)

Loser SF3 v Loser SF4 -> [Decides 7th and 8th place in League]
Winner SF3 vs Winner SF4 -> [Decides 5th and 6th place in League]
Loser SF1 v Loser SF2 -> [Decides 3rd and 4th place in League]
Winner SF1 v Winner SF2 -> [Decides 1st place / Runner Up in League]Mixed Social A Grade league of 8 is played as per draw listed above

In Leagues which comprise of more than one division, the 8 teams to contest the last 3 weeks will be allocated as follows………

Mixed Social B and Mixed Beginners

Split into TWO Groups.

The top four teams from both Group 1 and Group 2 will form a single group where they contest the CUP.
The lower four teams from Groups will form a single group and contest the PLATE.
Teams in both CUP and PLATE contests will be ranked 1st through to 8th based on their points gained from wins during the previous seven weeks of tag and then point difference between points for and against if required.

Mixed Social C

Split into FOUR Groups

The four groups will be as follows:
CUP – Top 2 from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Mixed Social C
PLATE – 3rd and 4th placed teams from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Mixed Social C
BOWL – 5th and 6th placed teams from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Mixed Social C
SPOON – 7th and 8th placed teams from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Mixed Social C

Once these groups of 8 are allocated, each group of 8 will play as fixtures as listed at the top of this description.
