Ferris Returns To Ulster Team

Powerful back rower Stephen Ferris has been named in the Ulster team for Saturday’s Magners League tussle with their provincial rivals Munster at Ravenhill (kick-off 7.35pm).

Stephen Ferris, who has been plagued with injury this season, returns to the Ulster side at the expense of Ballymena man Matt McCullough who drops out of the matchday squad.

Ed O’Donoghue starts in the second row ahead of Italian international Carlo Del Fava who has been listed amongst the replacements.

Dungannon clubman Thomas Anderson is a notable inclusion on the province’s bench, proudly following in the footsteps of his father, former Ulster and Ireland player Willie Anderson.

Rory Best will captain Ulster and start despite not being named in the extended squad earlier this week.

The back-line remains unchanged from the side that played Harlequins last weekend.

Former Ulster Academy star Mark McCrea is named on the bench for the first time this season – the speedy winger will be hoping for a run-out against a top Munster side.

Main Stand tickets have now sold out for Ulster’s first Interprovincial Magners League game of the season.

Promenade and Terrace tickets are still available for the much-anticipated clash and tickets are still currently available for the YellowTom stand. The temporary stand is based at the Memorial arch side of the pitch and is a seated, covered stand.

Tickets will be available on the gate from 6pm or if you want to pre buy your tickets you can do so by visiting the Ulster Rugby website.

Ulster v Munster tickets are also available via Ulster Rugby Ticket outlets across the province.

ULSTER (v Munster): Bryn Cunningham; Timoci Nagusa, Darren Cave, Paddy Wallace, Andrew Trimble; Niall O’Connor, Cillian Willis; Justin Fitzpatrick, Rory Best (capt), BJ Botha, Ed O’Donoghue, Ryan Caldwell, Stephen Ferris, David Pollock, Robbie Diack.

Replacements: Nigel Brady, Tom Court, Carlo Del Fava, Thomas Anderson, Isaac Boss, Ian Humphreys, Mark McCrea.
