Navan RFC will begin the defence of their AIB Junior Cup crown against former competition winners Seapoint, following the draw for the opening round which was made in the Navan clubhouse on Saturday evening.
The draw for the opening round of the AIB Junior Cup was made in Navan RFC on Saturday.
The draw was conducted by IRFU President John Lyons and Carl Morgan from AIB Navan, following the Leinster League calsh between Navan and Tullamore on Saturday evening.
The draw hosts and defending champions, from County Meath, were drawn against previous winners Seapoint in an all-Leinster first round tie.
The only other provincial derby in the opening round sees Corrib play host to Westport.
Last season’s beaten finalists Tullamore will face a trip to Belfast to play Cooke.
The AIB Junior Cup features four sides from each of the provinces.
The first round ties will be played on the weekend of Saturday January 3, 2009.
