IRFU President John Lyons has launched a Newsletter to update players and members of rugby clubs in Ireland on key features of the work of the IRFU this season.

The IRFU President’s Newsletter was distributed to the four provincial branches and then to clubs over the holiday period.

The four page full colour newsletter highlights some of the key areas of operation for the IRFU and for clubs in the coming seasons. There is an update on the new Strategic Plan, the redevelopment of the new stadium, the new format for the AIB League as well as the growth in playing numbers.

This season has also seen the launch of the new Facilities & Event planning guide for clubs and there is an update on the Age Grade Programme as well as the growing pupularity of Women’s Rugby.

John Lyons, IRFU President said: “The welfare of our game at grassroots level is the priority for the Union over the next four years as part of our recent Strategic Plan for Irish rugby, Building on Solid foundations. Over the coming months, you will see several new programmes coming on line to deliver on the stated goals for the domestic game.

“The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you all up to date with these developments and the various initiatives that are being put in place to assist your club and domestic rugby in its continued development. “
