Kilroy Leads Garryowen Past Terenure

Full-back Conor Kilroy kicked 14 points as Garryowen outlasted Division One’s bottom side Terenure College for a valuable win at Lakelands Park on Saturday.

AIB LEAGUE: DIVISION ONE: Saturday, January 24

Scorers: Terenure College: Tries: John Bollard, John Dever; Con: Conor Gildea; Pen: Conor Gildea

Garryowen: Try: Kieran Lewis; Con: Conor Kilroy; Pens: Conor Kilroy 4; Drop: Willie Staunton

This was anybody’s game at half time as the sides turned around with a 10-10 scoreline.

Opposing centres Kieran Lewis (15 minutes) and John Bollard (25) swapped tries.

Despite leaking a try off a lineout to ‘Nure’s John Dever, Garryowen, who are now sixth in the standings, moved into a match-winning lead courtesy of Conor Kilroy’s kicks and a drop goal from Willie Staunton.
