The draw for the Heineken Cup semi-finals will take place on Tuesday at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, the venue for May’s tournament final. IrishRugby.ie will bring you news of the draw on its completion.
The quarter-final matches will be drawn from the drum by Jean-Pierre Lux, the ERC Chairman, and Scott Hastings, an Edinburgh 09 Heineken Cup final ambassador, to determine the potential Heineken Cup semi-final pairings.
After last weekend’s round 6 matches, the quarter-finals have been set up as thus – Cardiff Blues v Toulouse, Munster v Ospreys, Harlequins v Leinster and Leicester Tigers v Bath.
The semi-finals will be played at venues selected by ERC on the weekend of May 2-3 with the final at Murrayfield on Saturday, May 23 (kick-off 5pm).
The mechanics of the semi-final draw are as follows:
a) The FIRST ball drawn will have home country advantage* in semi-final 1
b) The SECOND ball drawn will play in semi-final 1
c) The THIRD ball drawn will have home country advantage* in semi-final 2
d) The FOURTH ball drawn will play in semi-final 2
