MatchDay Event A Huge Success

Apres Match? How are ya! It was all systems go pre and post-match at the Supporters Club Match Day event in the Canal Room at Croke Park on Saturday for the Ireland v France RBS 6 Nations game.

We gathered in the Canal Room in hope and expectation and we left hoarse and happy.

Hundreds of lucky winners and their guests were able to soak up the pre-match atmosphere in comfort at the Supporters Club MatchDay Event last Saturday.

For some they had been there before, for others it was a first trip to Croke Park and a first trip to a Supporters Club gig. For all it was a wonderful day.

Swarming into the stands bedecked in green and carrying bodhrans, the Supporters Club members led the charge on Saturday as we roared on our team in green to an amazing victory over France.

It was great to see familiar faces and meet new members on the day and everyone enjoyed the post-match meeting with two of the heroes of the day – David Wallace and Rob Kearney.

Jim Sherwin of Irish Rugby TV was on hand to interview the lads and they were greeted with a huge roar from the assembled members.

Both David and Rob spoke about the intensity of the game, the speed of the French team and their delight with the manner of Ireland’s performance and the win.

One lucky attendee – Russ (there seemed to be a few hundred there on the night) was presented with a jersey signed by the squad.

Then as David and Rob signed autographs, posed for pictures and made their way into the night we were left to review one of the classic games of rugby!

On behalf of the club, Barry and Justin would like to thank all the members who made the day such a success and the ladies of the Hospitality Partnership who assisted on the day.

Roll on Italy!
