Ireland has a great rugby tradition of brothers representing the senior team with names like Wallace and Easterby in recent years. Now the Ireland Under-20s have the Ruddock brothers, Ciaran and Rhys.
Over the past two weekends the Ireland Under-20s have included two young brothers in their ranks for the games against France and Italy – Ciaran and Rhys Ruddock.
Ciaran played last season for Ireland Under-19s and Under-20s and is under contract at Neath while a student of Sport Sciences at Swansea University.
Rhys made his debut for Ireland against France, having played for Wales Under-18s last season, though he was actually born in Ireland. He is Captain of Rugby at that famous rugby academy, Millfield School.
Their father Mike needs little introduction, being the current Director of Rugby at Worcester Warriors and former coach of Leinster while their mum hails from Dublin.
