The draw for the semi-finals of the AIB Junior Cup has thrown up the possibility of a repeat of last season’s final between Navan and Tullamore, though Cill Dara and Cashel will have something to say about it first.
The draw was made live on 2FM’s Sportsbag programme on Sunday morning by former Leinster and Ireland prop Reggie Corrigan.
Navan beat Tullamore in the 2008 final in a cracking game and the possibility of a repeat of that clash came closer as they were both drawn at home in this season’s semi-finals.
Navan have been drawn against cup newcomers Cill Dara, who squeezed passed Ballina in the opening round and then accounted for Richmond in the quarters.
Navan have beaten previous winners Seapoint as well as Ballymoney en route to the final.
Tullamore have seen off Cooke and Westport on the road this season so they will welcome the home draw against Cashel, who have accounted for Clogher Valley and Armagh.
The games will be played on March 21st with the final due to be played on April 5th.
