Kiss Helps With Connacht Preparations

Ireland’s Grand Slam-winning defence coach Les Kiss joined the Connacht squad for training on Monday, assisting them as they prepare for their second last home match of the season against the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Les Kiss, who was appointed to his current role last June, was a key member of Ireland’s Grand Slam-winning set-up.

His efforts in solidifying Ireland’s defence can been seen by the fact that Ireland only conceded three tries – two against France and one against England – during the 2009 RBS 6 Nations

The Connacht players were run through some defensive drills, which the Irish squad utilised throughout the Championship, which will no doubt help them in their Magners League clash against the Dragons on Friday night.

Connacht go into their second last home match of the season confident of gaining some momentum before heading to Northampton for their European Challenge Cup quarter-final on Saturday week (April 11).

With only two home games left in the current campaign, supporters of the province are urged to get behind their side for last two games at the Sportsground before the summer break.

Match tickets, as usual, are available at the Connacht Branch offices at the Sportsground as well as from Ticketmaster.
