Wallace Rested For Leinster Clash

Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has named a 25-man squad ahead of the province’s return to Magners League action this Saturday at Ravenhill against table toppers Leinster (kick-off 6pm).

Brian McLaughlin has made no changes to the Ulster forwards, while the backs division see only one change – Paddy Wallace is being rested for this weekend’s game and Ireland Under-20 international Jonny Shiels has earned a call-up in his place.

Commenting on Saturday’s top of the table clash, Ulster hooker Andy Kyriacou said: “Obviously last weekend (against Edinburgh) was a massive disappointment for us, but we’re not going to dwell on it.

“The only game that matters now is Leinster at Ravenhill on Saturday.

“It’s first versus second and everyone is really excited about it. I think that goes for the supporters as well.

“Ravenhill was really kicking in terms of atmosphere for the Bath game and I’d expect it to be the same at the weekend.”

Rory Best, David Pollock, Bryn Cunningham, Matt McCullough and Thomas Anderson remain on Ulster’s injury list.

The province’s starting line-up and replacements will be announced on Friday afternoon.

ULSTER Squad (v Leinster) – Backs (11): Timoci Nagusa, Darren Cave, Simon Danielli, Ian Whitten, Isaac Boss, Ian Humphreys, Andrew Trimble, Paul Marshall, Clinton Schifcofske, Niall O’Connor, Jonny Shiels.

Forwards (14): Nigel Brady, BJ Botha, Bryan Young, Ed O’Donoghue, Andy Kyriacou, Stephen Ferris, Robbie Diack, Chris Henry, Willie Faloon, Tamaiti Horua, Tom Court, Dan Tuohy, Ryan Caldwell, Declan Fitzpatrick.
