Terenure Honour Dempsey At Gala Dinner
Terenure College RFC’s Gala Dinner to honour the achievements of Leinster and Ireland full-back/winger Girvan Dempsey was held in the Berkeley Court (D4 Hotels) recently.
Proceeds on the night went to two of Girvan Dempsey’s nominated charities, Crumlin Children’s Hospital and the Irish Cancer Society.
Girvan spoke eloquently to an audience of 300 Terenure College RFC members and friends including former Leinster and international team-mates – Simon Best (speaker), Terenure team-mates Niall Hogan (speaker), Eric Miller, Leinster captain Leo Cullen, Malcolm O’Kelly, Gordon D’Arcy, Shane Byrne and Reggie Corrigan.
The photography above shows Girvan receiving a portrait from Terenure College RFC President Tim Duggan Jnr.
The artist is James Hanley, a Terenure College past pupil, who has recently also completed commissions of President Mary McAleese and former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.
