IRFU/IAWLA Weightlifting Level One Course

The IRFU and the Irish Amateur Weightlifting Association are delighted to announce that a Level One Weightlifting Course will be run in Belfast over two weekends in May and June.

This is a two weekend Level One Course that covers an Introduction to Flexibility for Weightlifting, Clean/Power Clean, Snatch/Power Snatch and the Clean & Jerk.

A coach who completes the course successfully will be able to introduce the Olympic lifts to his or her players. To be accredited, you must be working with a rugby team or a group of rugby players.


Date – May 8 and 9, 2010, and June 26 and 27, 2010


Time – 10am to 4pm each day


Cost – Stg£225


Venue – Belfast (Malone RFC)


Presenters – Des Ryan (IRFU Fitness Education Manager) and Colin Buckley (IAWLA Coach Development Officer)
