The Leinster/Ulster team for the O2 Challenge – the historic first game in Aviva Stadium has been named. The combined side contains some of the most talented young players from both provinces.
The Leinster/Ulster selection will be captained by Ballymena’s Luke Marshall, who has performed well this season for the Ulster Ravens.
Up front Banbridge’s young hooker Jonny Murphy is one of a number of players who lined out for the Ireland U-18 Club side this season.
Alongside him are props Martin Moore and James Tracy, who has been capped at U-18 School and U-19 for Ireland.
In the second row Ulster’s Iain Henderson is partnered by Robert Hynes, 2010 Leinster Schools Cup winning captain from Clongowes.
The backrow comprises Ulster Young Player of the Year nominee Stephen Lecky, Ireland U-19 squad member Mark McGroarty and Ulster U-20 David McGuigan.
Half backs Peter du Toit and Paddy Jackson have both been capped at U-18 School level. Luke Marshall is joined in the centre by Alex Kelly who was in the 2009 U-18 School side.
The back three sees Andrew Boyle, U-18 Clubs 08/09, on the left wing with Craig Gilroy, Ulster U-20, on the right wing and Sam Coghlan Murray, U-18 Schools, at full back.
