The draw has taken place for the All-Ireland Junior Cup semi-finals. Monivea, who were beaten at this stage last season, face a trip to Cooke, while Crosshaven will host Sligo, the current Connacht Junior League Division 1A leaders.
Belfast side Cooke have secured a home draw in the semi-finals, after their memorable comeback from 17 points down against Skerries.
Cooke will take on a Monivea side that lost to eventual champions City of Derry in last season’s semi-finals. But the Galway men are unbeaten in the Connacht League this term and were impressive 24-0 winners over Ballymoney in the last round.
Following two excellent away victories in Dundalk and Dromore, Crosshaven will have home advantage in the last-four.
They are hoping to become only the second Cork club to reach the Junior Cup final, following in the footsteps of Youghal who were finalists in the inaugural season of 2005/06.
A tight game is expected at Myrtleville Coss as Sligo look to add Crosshaven to their list of scalps – they have already beaten former champions Tullamore and last season’s runners-up Armagh.
The two semi-final matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 12, with the final pencilled in for early April.
