Front rowers Rory Best and BJ Botha are injury doubts for Ulster ahead of their round 6 encounter with Aironi Rugby in the Heineken Cup next weekend.
Last Saturday’s match against Biarritz Olympique at Ravenhill represented another very physical tie for Brian McLaughlin’s Ulster squad.
Both team captain Rory Best and fellow front rower BJ Botha were forced to leave the pitch, during the second half, due to injuries.
South African prop Botha has sustained an elbow injury. He had it scanned earlier today.
Best sustained a rib injury in the closing stages of the 9-6 win and his treatment is ongoing. A decision on his availability for Saturday’s game against Aironi will be made later this week.
Declan Fitzpatrick and Nigel Brady replaced their injured colleagues during the round 5 fixture, which marked Ulster’s fourth win in five pool games this season.
