Kinsealy Pupils Enjoy ‘Play Rugby’ Programme

The students of St Nicholas of Myra National School in Kinsealy, Dublin 17, have recently been taking part in the IRFU ‘Play Rugby’ programme.

All pupils, boys and girls, from junior infants to sixth class at St. Nicholas of Myra enjoyed learning new skills and playing rugby.

The IRFU’s Play Rugby programme was a great success due to the enthusiasm of all the children, encouraged by their teachers.

There has been a real improvement in all of their skills and abilities during their time with the Leinster Rugby CRO.

A Blitz is due to take place in the coming months, allowing some students to compete against other Fingal schools participating in the programme.

Should your school like to get involved with the Play Rugby programme, please contact your local Community Rugby Officer, or for Fingal based schools contact Christian Stemmet on 0879118642, or email christian.stemmet@leinsterrugby.ie

Schools in other provinces should contact their Branch Office.

The IRFU Play Rugby programme and website were launched earlier this season as a resource for schools, clubs and parents.

The website includes video examples of games, certificate downloads and a guide to the ethos of the game of rugby. It is a great resources for coaches and teachers.
