Certified Conditioning Coach Courses Announced

The IRFU is now taking bookings for their Certified Conditioning Coach Courses. These are some of the most popular courses run by the IRFU Fitness Department and are always heavily subscribed, so book early to guarantee your place.

The IRFU are delighted to announce that in addition to the regular week in UUJ, the course will be held in Dublin for the first time in the excellent facilities of the Aviva Stadium.

The course is intended to help you gain the confidence and competence to condition and prepare the players in your charge in a safe and enjoyable manner for the game of rugby.

The course is part of a process in which the participant will be offered ongoing support over a three-year period through club and school visits and access to a network of certified conditioning coaches.

The Certified Conditioning Coach Course is a practical hands-on course where you will see and practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for conditioning rugby players at all levels.

More learning will occur as you return to your club or school and continue the process.

Very welcome news is that former IRFU director of fitness, Dr. Liam Hennessy, will be presenting on the course along with many other IRFU and guest presenters.

The list below includes the presenters who are confirmed to date, with more to be announced later:

– Des Ryan, IRFU fitness education manager
