Ulster Bank League: Top Scorers So Far

Today we take a look at the top scorers club by club in Division 1A and Division 1B of the Ulster Bank League. Who has scored the most tries? Who has the best strike rate?

DIVISION 1A:

Top Try Scorers

There is a tie in Division 1A as two players have both scored five tries to date – Old Belvedere full-back Daniel Riordan and young winger Darren Hudson from St. Mary’s College.

League leaders ‘Belvo have a number of other players in the top try-scoring charts including Richie Leyden and Leo Auva’a (4 each). With 26 tries in nine games, they are averaging just under three per game.

Top Points Scorers

Dolphin’s ever reliable Barry Keeshan is way out in front in the top points table with 98 to date. Young Munster’s place-kicking scrum half Alan Kingsley is in second place with 85 points.

Keeshan, the Cork side’s captain, has landed six drop goals this season in addition to 22 penalties and seven conversions, giving him an average haul of 12 points per game.

Lansdowne out-half Eoghan Hickey is well out in front in the top points scorers’ chart in Division 1B, having notched up over 100 points, including three tries.

Current Ireland Under-20 out-half Paddy Jackson is featuring well for Dungannon with 70 points, with up-and-coming youngsters Noel Reid (Clontarf) and JJ Hanrahan (UL Bohemians) also showing consistent form.
