The inaugural IRFU All-Ireland Club Sevens Championship finals take place this Saturday at Templeville Road, with the winners and runners-up from the four provincial Club Sevens tournaments in contention to represent Ireland at a European Sevens tournament.
The prize in the Men’s Division 1 and Women’s competitions is to represent Ireland as the Ireland Club Sevens team at theScandinavian Open Sevens tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark in August.
The winner of Men’s Division 2 will attend the Ireland v England GUINNESS Summer Series clash at the Aviva Stadium on August 27, as well as the official pre-match lunch and post-match team reception.
The action kicks off at 11am on Saturday with the opening clash between Ulster runners-up City of Derry and Connacht champions Galway Corinthians.
In the Men’s Division 2 section, the action opens with Clanwilliam taking on Leinster junior champions Coolmine, while in the Women’s competition Belfast Harlequins will face Galwegians.
It promises to be a big day at St. Mary’s College RFC with plenty of action on the field and with the Heineken Cup final on the big screen afterwards.
