Munster Prepare For Home Friendly With Wasps

Recent signing BJ Botha and New Zealand’s record try scorer Doug Howlett have been added to the Munster squad for Friday’s pre-season match against London Wasps at Musgrave Park (kick-off 7pm).

Fit-again scrum half Duncan Williams and hooker Mike Sherry have also been included in the 25-man panel by head coach Tony McGahan.

Lifeimi Mafi, Dave Foley and Tom Gleeson are all in contention to feature against Wasps, although there are a number of notable absentees from last Friday’s defeat to Stade Rochelais.

Marcus Horan, Damien Varley, Mick O’Driscoll, Denis Hurley, Johne Murphy and Ian Keatley may take part in the Ireland games – as part of an Irish selection against Connacht on Thursday night, or in the rematch with France at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

The new stand at Musgrave Park will get its first airing on Friday night and tickets are still available from the usual outlets and will be on sale at the ground on the day from 3pm.

MUNSTER Squad (v London Wasps) – Backs (11): JJ Hanrahan, Scott Deasy, Simon Zebo, Doug Howlett, Sean Scanlon, Danny Barnes, Tom Gleeson, Lifeimi Mafi, Peter Stringer, Duncan Williams, Declan Cusack.
