Munster’s bad run of luck with injuries has continued with the news that flanker Niall Ronan will be sidelined for the rest of the province’s 2011/12 campaign.
Niall Ronan will miss the remainder of Munster’s RaboDirect PRO12 and Heineken Cup matches this season due to a cruciate knee ligament injury.
It has been established that he damaged the cruciate ligament during the first half of Munster’s pool win over Castres Olympique at Thomond Park last Saturday.
He will undergo an operation on Friday, February 3 to repair the damage and look to resume playing next season.
Ronan will join fellow opensides, David Wallace and Tommy O’Donnell, in the province’s rehab room, although just for a brief period, as both Wallace and O’Donnell are expected to resume pitch sessions at some stage in the next month.
