CUSAI Announce College Play-Offs

CUSAI have announced details of the Colleges rugby play-offs. The Division 1 form guide shows last year’s finalists IT Carlow and Athlone IT unbeaten in the group stages, with University of Limerick and Dublin City University also earning home quarter-finals after only losing one group game.

Also through are NUI Maynooth and the University of Ulster Coleraine, while Cork IT advance after narrowly beating Waterford IT by 20-17 in their final group game.

Limerick IT have also qualified after IT Tralee let a second half lead slip to lose 13-10 to the Limerick side.

In Division 2, IT Carlow ‘B’ make the long trip to face IT Sligo and Stranmillis Univeristy travel from Belfast to Dublin to take on IT Tallaght.

In Division 3, holders NCI are accompanied by the seconds teams from DCU and Athlone IT as well as the thirds from IT Carlow.

Division 1 Quarter-Finals (Wednesday, February 29):

IT Carlow v Limerick IT, IT Carlow Campus, 5pm

Athlone IT v University of Ulster Coleraine, Dubarry Park, 2.30pm

Dublin City University v NUI Maynooth, DCU Sportsgrounds, 2.30pm

University of Limerick v Cork Institute of Technology, UL, 2.30pm

Division 2 Semi-Finals

IT Sligo v IT Carlow ‘B’, venue tbc, 2.30pm (Wednesday, February 29)

IT Tallaght v Stranmillis University, Tymon Park, Tallaght, 2.30pm (Wednesday, March 7)

Division 3 Semi-Finals (to be played Wednesday, March 7th):

IT Carlow ‘C’ v DCU ‘B’

Athlone IT ‘B’ v NCI

O’Boyle Cup (Fresher) Cup Semi-Finals:

NUI Maynooth v Waterford IT, NUIM North Campus

IT Carlow v UU Coleraine or DCU, IT Carlow Campus
