Coughlan Suffers Hand Injury

Munster number 8 James Coughlan has to be considered doubtful for their RaboDirect PRO12 game against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday, having sustained a bone fracture to his left hand during the Heineken Cup quarter-final loss to Ulster.

James Coughlan, who was one of Munster’s more impressive performers against the Ulstermen, will see a specialist later this week to establish the full extent of the damage.

Centre Keith Earls will also undergo further medical examination on Tuesday to determine the seriousness of his injury (leg).

Earls required on-field treatment for the knock he took in the second half of the Ulster game. The centre lasted the full 80 minutes at Thomond Park but was in some discomfort afterwards.

Meanwhile, Welsh side Cross Keys will provide the opposition to Munster ‘A’ in the final of the British & Irish Cup after they defeated Cornish Pirates 20-16 in their semi-final clash on Saturday.

The night before Munster ‘A’ came from behind on three occasions to secure their place in the decider (April 27-28, tbc), beating Leinster ‘A’ 36-29 after extra-time at the RDS.
