Fleet-footed Tiernan O’Halloran’s finishing efforts and recent form earned him the nod as the Connacht Player of the Month for March, and in doing so he becomes the latest Tag Heuer watch winner in association with Hartmann’s of Galway.
Tiernan O’Halloran has had a dream start to 2012 with slick tries against Irish rugby’s very best, against Leinster on New Year’s Day and most-recently a full stretch corner flag effort against Ulster at the Sportsground last weekend.
While Leinster scraped a two-point win back in January, O’Halloran and Connacht rammed home the advantage against Heineken Cup semi-finalists Ulster by winning 26-21 two weeks ago.
Plagued by niggling injuries earlier this season, O’Halloran has asserted himself as part of the back-line furniture of late.
The 21-year-old graduated from Nigel Carolan’s Connacht Academy to a full-time professional contract, and is looking forward to maturing as one of the province’s most exciting investments for seasons to come.
He debuted as an 18-year-old in the Amlin Challenge Cup against Olympus Madrid three Octobers back.
Wins over Harlequins, Edinburgh, the Dragons and Ulster still linger among his fondest Connacht memories and following a tight victory over Aironi last weekend, finishing the campaign on a high against Glasgow Warriors has him chomping at the bit before the summer begins in earnest.
Richard Hartmann congratulated O’Halloran on his award success and said one of Tag Heuer’s Formula One family of watches was a fitting addition to the speed merchant’s arsenal, which affords him no excuse to be late for training!
