The annual IRUPA Awards is one of the biggest nights in the rugby calendar when the professional rugby players of Ireland recognise the work of their peers.
Irish Rugby TV was at the 2012 IRUPA Awards dinner and we caught up with several of the attendees.
Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll is Chairman of IRUPA and he spoke to us on the night about the importance of the association and why peer recognition is so important to the players.
IRUPA CEO Omar Hassanein outlined the work carried out and the role they play in advising players throughout their careers.
Meanwhile, Leinster and Ireland flanker Kevin McLaughlin was presented with the O2 Unsung Hero gong by visitors to www.o2.ie/rugby, and we spoke to him about the award and his hopes for the rest of the season.
