Boss To Miss Tour To New Zealand

Scrum half Isaac Boss has been ruled out of consideration for the Ireland summer tour to New Zealand due to an ongoing thigh injury.

Isaac Boss had hoped to prove his fitness to take his place in the touring party when it leaves on Thursday for New Zealand, but has not recovered sufficiently.

Paul O’Connell will be continuing his rehabilitation of a knee injury in London for the remainder of this week and a final decision will be made on Friday on whether he will fly out to join up with the squad.

The other remaining positions in the touring squad will be finalised on Wednesday (May 30) after the warm-up game against the Barbarians.

The main touring party will travel to London on Wednesday before flying out to New Zealand on Thursday. The first Test against the All Blacks is in Auckland on Saturday week (June 9).
