Beach Tag Season to Kick Off at Strandhill
A great weekend lies ahead in Strandhill as teams descend upon this beautiful part of the Connacht coast for the first IRFU Volkswagen Beach Tag of the year.
Schedule for Strandhill plus latest information as follows:-
12.15 Teams check-in at registration, as on a normal tag night.
12.30 Captains Briefing – Takes place around registration area
12.45 Referees Briefing – As above, takes place around registration area
13.00 Kick-off! Group games then playoffs for finals. Everyone plays! Fixtures available in tent on big screen on the day.
Games are of around 15 minutes long each and each team will play around 4 group games before the playoff stage, which takes place around 16.30–17.00.
Please note that game times may be subject to change either side of scheduled start.
Camping is available at nearby Sligo RFC on the Friday and Saturday night and is FREE of CHARGE.

Car parking is not available at beach so teams are advised to use car parking facilities at Sligo RFC club grounds.
Shuttle bus service taking players to beach and back will be available from 11.15am til first match starts at 1pm.
Then will resume when matches are finishing. Departs from club. (location HERE)
Sligo RFC will also provide a small shop at club. Ideal for stocking up on snacks, drinks before heading off to beach!
Afterwards, trophy presentations and Apres-Tag party will be hosted at Sligo RFC, a tag host venue who certainly know how to put on a show!
B-B-Q food, bar and music all available for the night at the club.
A supply of Tag Shorts will also be on sale at registration area on beach at 20 EURO each as well as a limited stock of Irish Rugby merchandise. Sizes all subject to availability.
– Consumption of alcohol on beach or any public area is strictly prohibited
– Please ensure you bring along adequate sun protection, water and food
– Use garbage bins provided to dispose of all rubbish
