O’Donnellan Is New Galwegians President

Colm O’Donnellan has been elected as President of Galwegians RFC for the 2012/13 season, following the club’s recent AGM at Crowley Park.

Colm O’Donnellan, the well-known city auctioneer has been a member of Galwegians from an early age, having played at underage and senior level for many years before getting involved again in more recent years as a coach and administrator at underage level.

O’Donnellan succeeds Noel Leader as President following a very successful year in office for the popular Castlegar man, during which the club had many notable successes, including the All-Ireland Women’s Cup, the Connacht Senior League and Cup, the Connacht Junior Cup and Under-20 Cup.

Next season’s incoming Galwegians Vice President will be John Gaffney, another former player who spearheaded the highly successful revival of the club’s Youth Academy over the previous decade.

The following office holders were all re-elected at the Galwegians AGM:

Chairman – Paul Shelly
Director of Administration – Paddy Murphy
Director of Rugby – Mick Casserly
Director of Finance – Barry Casserly
Director of House & Grounds – Dave Whiriskey
Director of Youth Academy – Greg Costello
