Buccanneers To Host Athlone 7s

Buccaneers RFC will host the Athlone 7s and Tag festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend in Dubarry Park.

Three competitions are planned for the day, OPEN MENS, MENS JUNIOR and WOMENS OPEN. Very attractive prizes are on offer with €;2,000 up for grabs for the OPEN MENS event while the MENS JUNIOR and WOMENS squads can win €;1,000.

Entry Fee per squad of 12 players is €;250 for OPEN MENS with €;200 applying to the MENS JUNIOR and WOMENS competitions.

A TAG RUGBY tournament is planned for Sunday, August 5th. Entry Fee for this event is €;120 per mixed team of 12 players. IRFU mixed tag rules will apply. Discount is available to squads entering in both the Sevens and Tag tournaments.

The weekend promises much more than rugby with events off the field of play also being organised. Food and drinks will be available daily at the club’s BOUNTY BAR.
