A new President of the Exiles took office at the week-end. He is Noel Traynor who is extremely well-qualified for the post.
He is a member of the Board of the London Irish (professional) Club and a Committee member of the London Irish Amateur RFC, being distinguished by being the link person between the two clubs.
His past presidencies include London Irish Rugby (2000-02) and Finchley Golf Club (2004). He is a long-standing Golf enthusiast, being Captain of the London Irish Golf Society (1981) and later becoming President (1992).
Up to his retirement a couple of years back, he was very well-known in business circles, being Chief Buyer for the established firm of J Murphy & Sons.
Irish readers with longer memories may remember him as a distinguished player with Waterpark and Clontarf.
