Ryan Returns For Leinster ‘A’

The Leinster ‘A’ team to face Jersey in Saturday afternoon’s British & Irish Cup round 3 clash at St. Peter’s (kick-off 3pm) has been named.

Dominic Ryan has given the management a fitness boost after missing the last three months due to an ankle ligament injury he picked up in the season opener against the Scarlets.

Ryan will start in the Leinster ‘A’ back row for the trip to Jersey, linking up with number 8 Leo Auva’a and team captain Rhys Ruddock.

Tom Denton, Aaron Dundon and Jamie Hagan, who have all featured for the province’s enior team in recent weeks, are also included, while in the back-line John Cooney is paired with Noel Reid at half-back.

Jordan Coghlan partners Brendan Macken in the centre, while Dublin University clubman Cathal Marsh gets the nod at full-back.

The top two in their pool meet at St. Peter’s on Saturday afternoon and BBC Radio Jersey will have live commentary on their website – www.bbc.co.uk/jersey.

LEINSTER ‘A’ (v Jersey): Cathal Marsh; Andrew Boyle, Brendan Macken, Jordan Coghlan, Adam Byrne; Noel Reid, John Cooney; Jack O’Connell, Aaron Dundon, Jamie Hagan, Ben Marshall, Tom Denton, Rhys Ruddock (capt), Dominic Ryan, Leo Auva’a.

Replacements: Tom Sexton, Martin Moore, Tadhg Beirne, Conor Gilsenan, Luke McGrath, Tom Daly, Steve Crosbie.
