Defending Heineken Cup champions Leinster face a ‘must win’ round 4 clash with Clermont Auvergne at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday – and they will not be short of support at the home of Irish rugby.
Over 48,000 tickets have been snapped up for the Pool 5 showdown, both a season’s best so far and a new Irish Pool record.
It will be the second highest pool match attendance in the 18 years of the Heineken Cup, with the 76,569 who were at Stade Francais’ match against Harlequins at the Stade de France in 2008 going to take some beating.
The previous high for a home Irish pool match was already down to Leinster, the 46,365 who saw them put Bath to the sword last season, but that is set to be relegated to third place in the all-time list.
