In 2012 over 160,000 men, women and children were playing rugby in Ireland. We have chosen twelve pictures – one from each month – that showcase the breadth of Irish rugby.
Irish rugby comes in many guises – minis, youths and schools, tag rugby, touch rugby, sevens, the club game, women’s rugby, the four proud provinces, the Ireland international teams.
In clubs and schools all over the island uncountable numbers of coaches, referees and volunteers keep the game thriving. From the four proud provinces the supporters in blue, white, red and green continue to travel in huge numbers.
From minis to Six Nations, Irish rugby is alive and well.
