In what was a pulsating start to the 2013 RBS 6 Nations against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday, two Exiles made their respective contributions for the victorious Ireland team.
They were second row Mike McCarthy and replacement tighthead prop Declan Fitzpatrick. Declan came on as a replacement for Mike Ross at a critical stage of the game.
McCarthy was favourably commented on by the match commentators for the amount of unseen work that he had done.
By now, Mike seems like an established international as this was his seventh cap, whereas it was Declan’s third cap and his Six Nations debut. Both of them toured New Zealand with Ireland last summer.
