The three provinces competing in the knockout stages of Europe – Heineken Cup quarter-finalists Ulster and Munster and Amlin Challenge Cup contenders Leinster – have all added players to their tournament squads, while Peter Stringer is part of Bath’s Challenge Cup squad.
Under ERC tournament rules, teams who have qualified for the knockout stages of the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup can nominate up to three players for registration to supplement their initial 38-player European squads.
Ulster have brought in front row duo Niall Annett and Andrew Warwick along with current Ireland Under-20 international Stuart Olding, while James Cronin, Ivan Dineen and Cathal Sheridan have been drafted into Munster’s European panel.
Ahead of Leinster’s Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final away to London Wasps, the province have called up promising centre Brendan Macken and forwards Jack O’Connell and Dominic Ryan.
The registrations of players who have been nominated by teams are subject to confirmation by the relevant Unions and by ERC.
