TG4 has confirmed that it will broadcast live and exclusive coverage of both of Ireland’s Test matches during their North American tour next month as well as providing live and exclusive coverage of the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship from France.
Ireland’s senior team will open their summer tour against the USA at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 8. One week later, the Les Kiss-coached side will play Canada at the BMO Field in Toronto.
The Irish language channel will also provide live coverage of all of the Ireland Under-20s’ Pool B matches at the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship in France – against Australia, New Zealand and Fiji – as well as live coverage of both semi-finals and the final.
TG4’s Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said: “We look forward to bringing these matches to TG4 viewers all over Ireland on free to view television and we are pleased that we are expanding the channel’s rugby portfolio which already includes rights to the Heineken Cup and the RaboDirect PRO12.”
