Connacht have announced that they have moved their ticketing solutions away from Ticketmaster.ie and to industry competitors, Tickets.ie.
Tickets.ie are the leading independent providers of fully out-sourced ticketing services in Ireland and Connacht have heralded their appeal by signing a five-year contract with the Irish-owned company.
Tickets.ie, who have been providing ticketing solutions to the GAA for the last three years, have a vast and secure ticket sales network. Over 280 SuperValu & Centra stores nationwide will now sell tickets for Connacht fixtures.
The new sales network significantly increases the availability of tickets to all those wishing to watch Connacht play at the Sportsground in the coming season’s RaboDirect PRO12 and Heineken Cup.
Connacht Rugby’s head of marketing & commercial Alex Saul welcomed the announcement, saying: “We were very impressed with the vision of tickets.ie and their ability to deliver innovation and value in a new approach to ticketing and ticketing services.
“They stood out to us at the end of an exhaustive tender process with providers from around the world pitching to Connacht Rugby.
“This partnership represents a major commitment to the province’s growth over the next five years.
“But what is fantastic about this collaboration is that it allows our fans more access to tickets across the province and throughout the country.
“Tickets can now be purchased nationwide in SuperValu and Centra stores, online on tickets.ie as well as from the Connacht Rugby ticket office at the Sportsground.”
Commenting on the new partnership, John O’Neill, MD of Tickets.ie, said: “Connacht Rugby is the latest big Irish sports organisation to make the move to Tickets.ie.
“We are delighted that our cutting edge ticketing technology will help Connacht to build on its recent success and take its place among Europe’s rugby elite.”
