Hooker Sherry Suffers Cruciate Woe

Munster and Ireland hooker Mike Sherry is expected to miss the next six months after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Munster broke the news today that Mike Sherry will undergo surgery once the swelling goes down on the injury he sustained against the Newport Gwent Dragons last weekend.

Sherry had enjoyed a productive start to the season, having featured in 10 games for Munster, and the Ireland international will be hoping to recover as soon as possible.

There was better news for Gerhard van den Heever as the hand injury he picked up in the same game is not as bad as first feared. The South African is expected to make a return to training over the Christmas period.
