Four Changes For Connacht Eagles’ Bedford Trip

While the senior team welcome Toulouse to the Sportsground in the Heineken Cup, Connacht Eagles are travelling to England to play Bedford Blues at Goldington Road in round 4 of the British & Irish Cup on Saturday (kick-off 2pm).

Following an impressive 17-8 win over the Blues in the last round, the Eagles lie in second place in Pool 3 – one point behind leaders Rotherham Titans.

Coaches Nigel Carolan and Jimmy Duffy have made four changes from last weekend. Scrum half Marcus Walsh will start in an otherwise unchanged back-line.

Up front, Dave Heffernan and Peter Reilly are promoted from the bench to the front row while Aaron Conneely makes a return from injury to take his place in the back row.

CONNACHT EAGLES (v Bedford Blues): Shane Layden; David Panter, Conor Finn, Brian Murphy, Steve Macauley; Jack Carty (capt), Marcus Walsh; Finlay Bealham, Dave Heffernan, Peter Reilly, Dave Nolan, Daniel Qualter, Sean O’Brien, Aaron Conneely, Eoghan Masterson.

Replacements: James Rael, Saba Meunargia, Ultan Dillane, Conor Kindregan, Caolin Blade, Tadhg Leader, Rory Parata.
